About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

Clyde Jones has developed a reputation of sorts. A reputation of being a bad boy and nothing more could be further from the truth. This Texas born Louisiana native is a product of the University of Southern California (USC), where he held the title Man of USC for two years. As a Man of USC, Clyde’s handsome face adorned posters, key rings, greeting cards and calendars. One should not be fooled into thinking that Mr. Jones is just another "pretty boy wannabe." On the contrary, this man is a multi-talented actor and entertainer who recently added director and producer to his expansive resume.

Clyde received his first big break when he was cast in the role of Pvt. "Shortwave" Coates in the war drama The Siege of Firebase Gloria starring Golden Globe nominee R. Lee Ermey and Independent Spirit award nominee Wings Hauser. Since then Clyde has appeared in numerous films and television shows including Moesha, Homeboys in Outer Space, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Sparks and Divas, which also featured former Ally McBeal, star Lisa Nicole Carson. Motown’s Mustang, Eddie Murphy’s Coming to America, Fear of A Black Hat, Players Club, Our Journey and Love Beat the Hell Out of Me for which he was one of the executive producers.

For the last twelve years or so, Clyde has appeared in various on and Off-Broadway stage productions. Among them, Which Way Do I Go, Why Good Girls Like Bad Boys, B Careful What U Pray 4 in which he shared the stage with Cuba Gooding, Sr. and Shirley Murdoch. From 1997 to 1999 Clyde toured the country with Why Good Girls Like Bad Boys in the role of Silk to which he played to rave reviews. The character Silk was a cold calculating smooth as silk drug dealer, one who used his charms and good looks to seduce a young and naive college freshman into turning over her life and among other things to him. Jones’ characterization of Silk, was so convincing, that those who knew him personally found themselves taken a back by his true to life performance.

"CJ" as friends and family affectionately call him recently appeared in the Lifetime Movie MY LIFE IS NOT A FAIRYTALE: THE FANTASIA BARRINO STORY. Despite his endless list of credits - the one role that folks remember Clyde from the most is that of the guy from the SOUL GLO commerical from Coming to America. Yes, he is Mr. LET YOUR SOUL GLO!

Clyde is a warm, caring, intelligent and charming man, whose kindness is often mistaken for weakness. But rest assured, a weak man he is not. Clyde is very much grounded in his faith as a Christian. And in all things, he puts the Lord first in his life.
