About Me

Hi! My name is John Autin. I'm a husband, father, professional musician, songwriter. I'm on myspace because I enjoy meeting people and I hope some of you will come and have a drink with me where I play. I perform Wed.- Sat. Night 9-1 at the Carousel Lounge in the Hotel Monteleone. It's an old style piano bar with a 7ft. Steinway grand piano that they have tuned anytime I ask. For a singer/piano player like me who likes to play all types of music and hang out with great people it's a dream job come true. I think I'd rather have this gig than be famous. I do Jazz, Blues, New Orleans piano, Rock, Funk, Standards, Pop, and Originals. It's a great place to bring a date you want to get cozy with or meet friends. Big news at the Carousel. Starting the week of April 9th it's going non smoking. The first bar I know of in New Orleans to do so. I'm so excited about it. It's like making my dream gig even better. During the day I write music for a movie called "The Magistical" which will be coming out in late 2007. I also work with up and coming artists by producing their first recordings. I've worked with Nora Wixted, Al Broussard, George Porter ,Jr., Anders Osborne, Theresa Andersson, John(Subdudes)Magnie, Irene Sage, Rockin' Jake, Doug Duffey, Jeff Spence, Big Daddy 'O', and most recently Amanda Walker. You can buy my CD on iTunes and right here!...
