During New Years Eve of 2004, FAZZ (from Pavia: singer, keyboardist and programmer) and BIG LEO (from Ferrara: singer and lyricist) find themselves talking about music while drinking beer and Leo suddenly says: "Fazz, do you by any chance compose original music, in addiction to play covers?" so Fazz answers: "Of course, Ive been composing music all my life!"...and thats how it all started.A few weeks later, Fazz gives Big Leo a CD containing a selection of his own music, featuring both complete songs and some samples. Leo immediately gets inspired and starts writing lyrics and vocal melodies to Fazzs music. Like in a frenzy, they keep writing song after song: fortunately Leo's English is good and Fazz likes that very much.
In a symbiosis born out of nothing, the two musicians produce a dozen tracks in eight months, using computers to perform/record music and the Internet to send the unfinished songs to each other.Despite the distance between them, they are reciprocally inspired from one anothers artistic abilities and this will eventually lead to a self-produced album, recorded in Fabio's home studio with a few but efficient technological tools.
Seven songs gets selected from all the music written so far: the project BIOMECHANIX was born.Leo provides lyrics and vocal melodies, Fazz performs and records the instrumental tracks, ready for the vocals to be added. Leo also works on the CD and website graphics, while Fazz starts looking for someone to help mix the record: finally, the bio-machine has started working!After months of ideas, comments, mistakes, corrections and suggestions between the two friends/artists, the BIOMECHANIX project has been completed. The final result can be found on the Cd and in the Download section of the website www.biomechanix.it: the encounter of two musical backgrounds so close but also so far, getting mixed after putting aside their own differencies to work solely on their similarities, their own human and artistic qualities.BIOMECHANIX has been arranged, produced and recorded by Fazz.
