(Skraps 1985-1991)Skraps formed out a basement band called American Legion who practiced from 1984-1985 with Brett Wolfgang (vocals), Turtle (guitar), Pozzo (bass) and Blayne Wolfgang on Drums...a practice tape exist in the D. Wulf mansions vault for future extortions and bribery blah..blah..due to an incident with some explosives 1/2 the members couldn't play anymore and no one really remembers the incident. So onward - Pozzo recruited long-time mate Sparks to play bass and Bretton found Bill Riot at Todds a gay bar...no really.Skraps formed in 1986 with Brett Wolfgang (vocals), Pozzo (Guitar), Sparks (Bass), Riot (Drums). If anyone remember the 80s most bands were fast...very fast or crappy oi. Skraps played mid-tempo with a singer who could actually sing...although live recordings are much faster due to a certain drummers obsession with playing too fast and usually out of time. Many shows followed with opening slots for Danzig, GBH, Exploited, Suicidal Tendencies, Circle Jerks, Seven Seconds, DOA, Dayglo Abortions just to name a few. Band was in good spirits and we mainly hung out, drank together, also we were all Sids at the time so mandatory nights at Todds, Bookies, Shelter kept us visible...we had lots of fun and then added member Pistol Pete. Great musician...blah..blah but he just didn't fit in and it caused a split eventually. Music was getting boring after 5+ years and really it just got stupid with personality conflicts and the typical BS.So Bretton and Pistol left to form the rock band called Thunder Chef now a show on Food Network with Wiz Arney (Seduce) Johnny Speck (Fags and Hoarse). Actually I heard they were really good musically but turned into Spinal Tap.Sparks and Pozzo started the Skoundrels which was influenced by early punk such as Johnny Thunders, early Clash, Slaughter and the Dogs, with a few Who covers thrown in. That lasted until 1992 when Pozzo high-tailed it to North Carolina for a few years.Skoundrels was alot of fun and we played regularly at Finneys for our friend Sue Summers at Chaos....also a show for DOA at Todds and opening gig for Bobby Steele who played in the Misfits as he constantly reminds everyone.Skraps re-formed in 1998 with original members Bretton Wolfgang, Pozzo now Dresden Wulf (guitar), Bunny (Bass) and Wiz Arney (drums). It was alot of fun with no attitudes and just for fun all around good time. Practice was even enjoyable. But credit is due - Arney was really the driving force as he was actually a musician and can play drums, piano, guitar, theramin..you name it. After running the old Skraps set new songs were churning out more polished and not fitting the old Skraps. Chris also wrote alot of great songs early on like Some People. Download the CD in the blogs section and see for yourself.With new songs rolling in we killed off Skraps. Dave and Bretton renamed the band to Sex Machine which played some pretty damn good tunes. We put out a CD you can download for free - again see blogs section above.Our last show was March 2006. Some plans were going on to do some more shows in the end of 2007. It may or may not happen with some new members if we can get motivated.
