I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4Here it is...as our beer and wine soaked brains manage to remember it....from the cradle to the barn, the unpolished turd...the unfiltered history of the Farm!!!
The old mates K-Riot(Hellmoppers) and Valen(Köttgrottorna) had been playing together in various bands such as Slita Ficka and Hela Huset Skakar, back then K-Riot was playing drums but had a bleedin..urge to become a singer and to play some guitar....Two guitars, vocals and drums, a kinda Cramps rock..n..roll....In the year of ..99, we found Kalle(Bröderna Marx)who played drums until he finaly got lost during the early years of the Sonic evolution. Then we found the dynamic-duo:Mattias and John (Barndomslandet) who joined us on bass and drums, after 1 or 2 gigs, this line-up somehow suddenly went up in smoke....shortly after Valen bumps into an other old friend, Trassel a.k.a Ego T.Superstar(The Part-Time Posers) altought he already was playing in 3 bands he was asked to join the Farm....Ego leaves one of his bands to become the new bassplayer for the Sonic Farm (hhhmm...wonder if he regrets that he just a few months earlier had been given away his bassguitar to Captain Sensible to get his hands on a 12-string Hohner?) The search for a new drummer ended with Jimmy(Radioaktiva Räker) behind the drumkit. In April 2005 Sonic Farm was recorded by Mattias, once a member of the Farm, with some assistance from Limpan and Gunta. It resulted in the 4-track demo: " I can..t lose". Unfortunately Jimmy decides to move away from Stockholm and therefore has to leave the band but he doesn..t leave without putting a mark in the Sonic history: The remarkable recording session and the remarkable gig at the Sonic Showdown festival and for beeing an important part for the development of the sound of Sonic Farm!!!And then when you all thought you were safe....the wild and manic lumberman from north shows up.... J.Musta(Mean ,the Drive-ins, Real McCoy) becomes the new drummer.
We spend lots of time recording new stuff, doing lots of gigs, releasing our debute 7" "Unsafe at Any Speed" in 2006 followed by more gigs, incl. our first gigs outside of Sweden, doing some gigs in Germany, Denmark and Holland. 2007 were spent rehearsing, doing some local gigs and writing lots of new songs to be recorded for our full-lenght CD that was planned to be released in mid-07 and followed by a short European tour to promote the CD....Unfortunately the CD got delayed by half a year and didn..t see the light until mid december 07.... So the idea of doing a promotion tour in 2007 kinda "went out the window...."
2008 with a brand new CD, we were eager to record some new stuff, doing a few UK shows, followed by some gigs in Germany....but it all has to be re-scheduled as it collides when our drummer decides to stand-in for the Groovies who needed a drummer for their European tour......Therefore we decided to get a stand-in drummer for the Farm so we could do some reheasing, writing some new songs.....it went really well and during its journey he became our new drummer....He..s called Garre and has been rolling the skins in such bands as Död Lag, Jamboree, The Solar Lodge, Whippet, The Flicker and most recently, Glasson..... -Could we please go back to our plans now?
