About Me

Daisy Cools released her first album titled 'Soultraffic' in 2006. On this album, as well as during her live performances, she shows that she's written a large variety of songs in a style that, well..may be quite hard to describe. Her melodies are somehow always catchy. After hearing one of her songs it won't be long until you find yourself humming or singing it. Her voice, with its own sparkly and sometimes sultry sound, expresses strong, often personal lyrics that are bound to get to you.Highlights in Daisy's career so far are live performances on Dutch national radio and tv and of course the release of her first album which took place in Nighttown, Rotterdam. One of the coolest and most valuable things she's done is attending a songwriting course by Ray Davies (The Kinks) and Marion Wells which lasted a week. During this week she learned a different approach to songwriting and came home with a few new songs in the pocket..Currently, Daisy is working on releasing her second album. Her sound has changed a bit and the things she sings about may be somewhat surprising and mysterious. The release date hasn't been set yet, so keep checking her myspace or official website www.daisycools.com...

Band Website: daisycools.com
Band Members: Daisy Cools (vocals, guitar, piano), Marco Vogler (bass), Marco Lodders (drums)
Influences: Everything fascinating basically...good or bad. The people I live with, play with, the people I observe..:-) They make me want to write songs! Loving music by- for instance- Porcupine Tree, Rachael Yamagata, Prince, Saybia, The Kinks, Bob Dylan, Air and Charlotte Gainsbourg. Movies are definitely influential as well, especially when directed by Park Chan Wook. Books by Haruki Murakami..so cool and absurd and therefore very, very, inspiring. And of course there's always love as a neverending influence, lots and lots of love..
