The Starboard Cast

The Starboard Cast are a sometimes 5-piece band/collective from Sydney, Australia, fronted by Chris Moller formally of seminal late 90's noise rock band Midget. In short, they were previously known as Starboard, but adopted the Starboard Cast moniker in order to represent the 5-piece band version put together to do justice to the recorded versions of the songs.The Starboard Cast released 'The Sadlight EP' in July 2006 and launched it in the warm environs of the Hopetoun Hotel. It was a cathartic night, with the EP acting as the perfect introduction to the band, and bodes well for the release of the long-awaited (read long overdue) album 'The Night in Question' that is to follow in the future...Both this EP and the forthcoming album were produced and recorded by Wayne Connolly (Youth Group, You Am I, The Vines), and damn he's done a great job! From the stripped back bar-room romp of 'Sadlight' (available on the EP) to the all out fire 'n' brimstone rock and roll of 'Male/Female Plan', he's brought all of the elements together to make one stunning debut album. Whilst the EP may bruise, the forthcoming album should draw blood.Until the next chapter...
