About Me

The Live Life Then Give Life Campaign aims to raise awareness of the chronic lack of organ donors in the UK. There are 8000 people in the UK waiting for an organ transplant right now, and last year nearly 500 people died after their time simply ran out.
In March 2005, Emily was listed for a double lung transplant after being told she had just 12 months to live. Statistics were not on Emily's side and she knew there was a 50% chance she could die before finding a donor in time. Emily clung onto life by her fingernails, beat the doctors predictions and after 22 long months she finally received the call she had been waiting for.
Sadly 50% of those in Emily's situation will die before they ever receive a transplant due to the desperate shortage of registered organ donors in the UK.
Determined to fight these statistics, Emily and her close friend Emma teamed up and together launched the Live Life Then Give Life campaign in March 2006.
Organ donation affects everyone. You are more likely to need a transplant than to ever be able to donate an organ.
Emily and Emma have designed two eye-catching T-shirts to encourage people to think and talk about their wishes. By buying and wearing one of these T-shirts, you will be raising money for the charity 'Transplants in Mind', as well as sending out the message that you want to give the Gift Of Life.
