Jared Paul is a social worker, journalist, and organizer from
Providence, Rhode Island. Known for thoroughly researched work,
poignant presentation, and dedication to craft, Jared is
widely recognized as one of the top spoken word artists in the
country. His performance accomplishments include two nation wide tours
with world-renowned poet and Epitaph Recording artist Sage Francis,
and advancing to the Individual World Poetry Slam Final's in both 2006
and 2007.
A reputation for explosive delivery and intense politics have made
Jared a stand out, but it's constant involvement in direct action off
stage that hasmade him nearly legendary in the world of Spoken Word.
Over the past 8 years he has helped organize and participated in
countless social forums, street theater actions, block letter
writing/phone banking endeavors, indy-media fundraisers, protests,
awareness canvassing, and extensive working class lobbies throughout
the United States & England. Jared covered both the 2004 Democratic
and Republican National Conventions for 90.3FM WRIU News, and is
currently involved in a class action lawsuit against the City of New
York; 500 U.S. citizens, all detained for 30-72 hours without charge
or access to legal representation during the 2004 RNC.
