In September of 2005 Kendrick was given the task of forming a praise and worship team for the upcoming Installation Service of his father Pastor Darrell W. Kinlow. Although many verbally committed to the task at hand only a few came through in the end. This was okay because God had a plan. On November 27th 2005 the three faithful, Kendrick and the church Praise & Worship Leader went forth, allowing God to use them mightily. This group of worshipers led over 250 attendees into the presence of the Lord through songs of worship and praise.
Needless to say this young group of worshipers was well received and with such an awesome, sincere sound many would think they had been singing together for quite some time. Although this was meant to be a one time singing engagement in mid February of 2006 Kendrick Kinlow and the three faithful young people, which included Crystal Tolbert, Sharon Brown and Keith Willingham, were asked to open with praise and worship for a concert at a local church in Milwaukee. Once again God worked through these willing vessels in an awesome way and it was evident that something was being birthed here.
Over the course of the next few months many invitations and opportunities were extended to them. It was time to sit down and put things into perspective. In April of 2006 Kendrick Kinlow called everyone together and stated it was obvious that God brought them together for a reason even greater then what was originally planned. Everyone agreed and believed there was a tremendous work for the Lord to be done, thus the start of Kendrick Kinlow & Dominion Ministries. At that time there were four singers and two musicians. In the course of less than one year the ministry has added two singers, Trinae Boswell and Te'nese Tolbert, increasing them to a stable size of six well blended singers and a band of now six musicians.
Dominion is composed of young people from different ministries and denominations, all of which are also involved with there local churches as praise and worship leaders, choir members, directors and musicians. The feel and sound of Dominion has been compared to the likes of Byron Cage, Israel & New Breed and the Singletons. This Milwaukee based group is particularly known for there jubilant blend of voices and the anointing that flows when ministering before the people of God. Realizing that ministering to Gods people is a very delicate thing and not to be taken lightly. They allow the spirit to flow through them repeatedly, as they lead the masses to worship filled with healing power and praises of promise and great change.
The vision of Kendrick Kinlow & Dominion is to bring forth true praise and to be an example to others, young and old alike. It is time out for traditions, denominational barriers, and great singing with no anointing. The name DOMINION is taken from the following scripture, To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Jude 1:25 The time is now for this mighty move of God and he has given much power unto this ministry to do so.
