Deep South Ska is here to bring some of the old back into the new. Dont forget Ska's roots, Ska was around way before most of your parents or grandparents were even born. Back then it was jazzy and layed back, that was the first wave. Unlike the 2nd wave of ska popularity in the UK. That's when Ska was first blended with punk elements. Todays third wave of Ska, still hanging in there, blends all sorts of other genres with it, such as punk, rap, hardcore, pop, and reggae. Deep South Ska hopes to enlighten todays ska enthusiast on what ska use to be and help keep them informed about local Ska, Reggae, Jazz and rock events. We will do our best to keep the upcoming shows in the South posted and up to date.
