For Advertisers and Distributors
If our zine reaches the demographic that your business or organization is catering to, drop us a message on MySpace or an email at
[email protected] and let us know you're interested. Here are the prices for advertising spots in
The UpBeat:
Banner: $20
Half page: $40
Full page: $75
If youre interested in distributing for
The UpBeat and making a few extra dollars for yourself, let us know! We sell the zine at our distribution points for $1, but are willing to ship in bulk for under that price so you can keep the change while keeping your entire scene up on whats happening in the national ska community.
For Bands
If you'd like to get some coverage in
The UpBeat with an interview, a CD review, an article, an advertisement, or anything else, get in touch with us! We're always open to new music, even if we have our hands full with our next issue. We can always use more information on the ever-expanding ska scene, and will cover as many bands from around the country as humanly possible. If you're looking for coverage, we definitely recommend sending us a press kit, and if you have a recent release, we'll give it a listen and see if we would like to publish a review. Even if we don't put it to print, we have writers who also publish CD reviews for CT Ska online. Odds are, if you send us somehting, it'll get press coverage one way or another. You can send us press kits, releases, donations, your mother's freshly baked cookies, or anything else that you think we might like to:

As a non-profit zine, the writers, designers, editors, and everyone else involved with
The UpBeat only seek to give back to the scene thats provided them with so much. If youre in a band, and would like to reach us, drop us a line and well see how we can accommodate you. Also, if youd like to make a contribution to the cause, wed be ecstatic, as it is funded from our own pockets, and from whatever we generate through ad sales. Once weve made a large enough impact, we seek to make an issue entirely in color, and also make the publication completely free. But, until then, we need all the help we can get! Thanks for visiting our page. Ska on.
