MONOVOX is an enticingly fun group out of San Diego's South Bay that successfully fuses a unique combination of jam-based riffs, african polyrhythms and jazz sensibility into a cohesive tour-de-force collective of musicians that has taken the local area music scene by force wherever they play. In the course of its debut year on the scene, MONOVOX has already played an impressive array of venues and local events, from Latin and Hard Rock showcases at the House of Blues, to battles in the semi-finals for a spot on the Warped Tour at venues such as Static Lounge and Brick by Brick.
Led by Ricardo Orduno on guitar and vocals, and supported by a rhythm section consisting of Sergio Corona on drums and Carlos Machuca on bass, MONOVOX aims to challenge the harmonic "safety nets" that permeate today's popular music by asserting itself with visceral elements of danger, sex and passion in a sonic package that will assault your senses like few other bands on the scene today.
