NATURE*NATURE*NATURE*NATURE & all of MOMMA EARTH'S CREATURES
Learning about almost anything-especially medical/healthcare, hiking, climbing, traveling, camping, being with my love Erick, The Bioneers, reading, gardening, cooking, building community, and trying something new.
These pictures below are of "Teddy." He is my friend's dog. He is an ex-fighter. His ears were cut off without any anesthesia by the inhumane people who fought him. He was kept in a dark shed after he was rescued because no one wanted him and he had to be hidden from shelters and authorities due to stupid BSL laws! This dog is the sweetest dog! He has never hurt anyone. He was dumped because he didn't want to fight. He was thrown away like garbage. Teddy waited for over 2 years before anyone wanted him because of his appearance, his mutilated ears, and because no one wanted a deaf dog. This madness has got to stop. These animals deserve love, affection, and life! We must make tougher laws holding people responsible for the heinous acts they commit on innocent animals. We must stop blaming the breed. It is the heartless people who are responsible and who make it so difficult to save these wonderful dogs. Thank goodness Teddy is happy now. He never deserved the 5 years of hell he had to endure waiting for a home.
I'd like to meet:
I took this picture of this little boy in 1999. I want to meet him now. He's a Superman!
People who fight against BSL (breed specific legislation) and don't malign bully breeds, in particular the Pit Bull. Also old, current, and new friends... and maybe Willie Nelson.
Oh, the best, whom I have already met.. My bestfriend in this world, Stefanie. She is also my hero. She took me out of a difficult situation and brought me here to New Mexico to thrive; and I have done nothing but thrive! I LOVE YOU STEFANIE!!!
Music:
There are so many different bands and people that I absolutely love so it is easier just to name the genres so here it goes:
Blue Grass, Classical, Jazz, Classic Rock, Motown, Folk, Indie, World Beat, Salsa, House, OLD country, and Opera
Movies:
Princess Bride, Rat Race, Caddyshack, Working Girl, Labyrinth, The Lord of the Rings, Crash, The Milagro Bean Field Wars, Forest Gump, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Splendor in the Grass, Like Water for Chocolate, Little Miss Sunshine
Television:
I love Family Guy. Sometimes I find that my mouth has literally dropped open by the things they say. Its wild! I also love The Amazing Race and I was so happy the Hippies won. Go Hippies! My next favorite show is Grey's Anatomy. I think it is by far one of the better shows on TV. If I had cable this list would probably be very different. :)
Books:
My absolute favorite books are the ones that have the capability to change for the better who I am, what I think, or how I perceive. A few of these are:
Like Water for Chocolate, The Grapes of Wrath, The Handmaidens Tale, She's Come
Undone, Stranger in a Strange Land, The Color Purple, Of Mice & Men, Hatter Fox, all Tom Robbins books, and Stolen Lives.
Heroes:
There are so many heros in the world. I guess anyone who can make it through this life remaining true to themselves while simultaneously inspiring and helping others along the way is a hero. Oh, and of course teachers and nurses who deserve way more respect and appreciation. One more: Stefanie O'niell b/c she dragged me out here to start a new life and for that I am eternally grateful.
The above is my hero with her little hero. Such a beautiful family!
I am Jennifer's friend. I wanted to say something about this wonderful lady since she says very little about herself. She has a huge heart, is brilliant, kind, and I think anyone who has her as a friend is very blessed. Now, I know she will see this and want me to remove it, which is fine, but until then I get to brag about my friend! I love you Jennifer, even though we have never met face-to-face, you are very special to me and I had so much fun playing with your page! Thank you for trusting me and thank you for loving my "White Face" Teddy!
Love, Carrie
