About Me

Super sexy, fly, hot, retardedly smart (huh?) the dopest...whoa! whoa!ha ha Life has taken me many places. I've been gettin' my hustle on since I was a kid. I really started out creating and organizing talent shows with my cousins and the foster children my grandmother used to take care of in Alabama. I was 8 and full of aspiration with a side of crazy...uhhh...eccentricity. She(my grandma) was the gem who believed in me enough to make everyone pay attention. I miss her...After that, mom and dad waisted no time rallying up a support team. I love them.. I started out singing in church and in a traveling gospel choir called the Soul Children of Chicago. My fellow windy city folk know what I'm talkin' bout. From there I got involved in ETA theater(another Chi-town landmark)where I performed in my first plays. On to the Goodman Theater (considered big time Chi-town theater)where I performed in A Christmas Carol. I remember I had an exhaustion breakdown in front of the theater as my mom was dropping me off (at 12!)ha ha. I didn't want to go to work. I thought theater at this level was too much. The fun was gone. So I moved on to television and radio and didn't revist the play forum till I was an adult....I did some industrial films, voice overs and finally my big break came from Oprah Winfrey (poppin' her bra strap-good lookin'out). I was casted in the ABC television series "Women of Brewster Place". My mother must have lost it when we got the message on our answering machine... (I remember like it was yesterday). She was so proud and excited that I was actually accomplishing my dreams. After that, I auditioned for the New Mickey Mouse Club. Little did I know what a priceless experience that would be for me. Matt Cassella (the casting guru) called when I had the flu and told me that I was a mouseketeer. He thought I was disappointed cuz my reaction was so unenthusiastic. My mother had to tell me to pep it up.. Did you hear what he just told you? I guess I was so preoccupied with my uninvited guest (the flu) that I was a lil' late on the excitement...my myWe danced, acted, sang, interviewed the hot artist of that time, honored very special kids who made a positive impact on their community, did music videos, made an album, traveled to different parts of the world and even did a spin off show that was more of a dramedy. Some of my counterparts have gone on to have very successful careers... From the Mouse Club I traveled to "Hollywood" to continue the movement. Believe it or not, I was almost signed to Death Row Records...ha ha. Whoa! What a combination..Not long afer, I booked Homeboys In Outer Space (an NAACP favorite!- yea right)Some guest star spots and an indy movie later, I became the first lady of Darkchild (Rodney Jerkens label) Records. I traveled around the world with that album and never quite made it back to the states.. I've since been on tour for 8months with my first play since being an adult, booked an oscar winning bit part in a movie (comedy)lol...joined the fabulous R&B group En Vogue, slipped in a reprise of the play from earlier and garnered a guest star spot as a gay sister (they need love too:). Present day- I've been growing in leaps and bounds spiritually and mentally. I Am in the state of allowance for happiness, harmony, peace, love, and prosperity to continue to flow into and about my life. All the best to each of you..Namaste

My Interests

I'm an avid reader. I love to host and entertain; whether it's a get together @ my Chateau, or connecting with other souls via the fine arts. To eat well is one of my biggest joys. My enjoyment for wine has also grown. I'm becoming a fabulous wine buff. I'm also very interested in aiding the quickly growing critical mass (love train)in bringing in a fresh, innovative and progressive energy.

I'd like to meet:

I'd love to meet YOU:).....................................

Music:

I like a lot of music for a lot of different reasons. I do believe that music makes the world go round. R&B, Jazz, Country, Folk, Alternative, Euro groove lounge, Gospel/Inspirational, some hip hop, Big Band, Latin, Middle Eastern, African, a lot of Old School music and anything that makes me feel good:) .. width="425" height="350" .. .. width="425" height="350" ..

Movies:

The Color Purple, The Edge, Gladiator, Brave Heart, The Patriot... That's a hard one... we could be here all day

Television:

The Jamie Foxx Show...
Get this video and more at MySpace.com Definitely what could be considered a chick choice but, I really dig Extreme Home Makeovers. It's great to see people being so benevolent. Even if it's at the expense of "Hollywood".

Books:

I take more to tangible information. Anything that I can use to enhance my life, enable spiritual revelation, or to decoding the matrix we really live in, is worth a read in my neighborhood. This next video is hilarious.. Osho has been a prolific teacher on my spiritual journey. Warning: Adults Only

Heroes:

Mom dukes is pretty amazing and so was my late grandmother Inez Taylor. I come from a line of strong black women. Martin Luther King and Malcome X are also an inspiration. It took a lot of courage to be the people they were. My dad would never guess but, he's on this list too. He got 8 jobs mon. A carpenter, chef, mechanic, engineer, fighter, loving husband, nurturing father and a science project guru. As an aspiring singer at the tender age of 9, Whitney Houston used to get my vote. She and her voice were neck and neck for the most beautiful award. Although she has made some choices we don't understand, I still support her from afar. She, like all of us, wants to be accepted and loved...
