PROLEPSIS

About Me

Prolepsis is currently based in Auckland, and was formed in the late 90's. Our current line-up consists of Riley Al-Johary on vocals and guitar, Nathan Garton on guitar, Carl Hayman on drums and Paul Field on bass.
Our music can be broadly described as Rock, with subtle elements of Jazz, Classical and Funk. We have a spectrum of sound spanning from acoustic ballads to intensified rock, using emotive melody and lyrics which project powerfully, and it's part of our ambition to share this experience with as many people as possible. We've played at the Kings Arms, Temple, Control Room, The Masonic, The Roadhouse and other places around town.
We were involved in the 2003 "Battle of the Bands" and came through as regional finalists. You may have also spotted us in local papers like the Manukau Courier and Aucklander too. Check out our downloads page where you hear our music.
Our EP was carefully produced over 4 weeks at On the Edge Studio. We decided not to use any extra arrangements or effects that we wouldn't normally use at a gig or rehearsal, as the focus of the recording was the capture the band's live tone, energy and form.
