Hi all, I know it's been a while since anyone has heard from us... we're still all here (kinda). We've had a little break & are heading back out there... as soon as Bob recovers from his knee surgery. There is a gig in the pipeline & a goodbye coming up... little Matty Bell is heading down to Christchurch to live in the Mainland (more fool him)... look after him guys, you know we'll be kicking arse & taking names otherwise. So on that note, we are looking for a 2nd guitarist, if anyone is interested flick us a message. Watch this space - details are emerging!
Whole lotta love. LL
Naquadah formed in late 2002 when founding members Louise and Holly needed an outlet for their artistic talents. Louise – a poet turned lyricist, found her voice and combined her provocative and haunting prowess with Holly’s equally dark and melodic piano playing. After many incarnations with band members, Naquadah found their footing with Rob (Pedro) on guitars, who seamlessly blended ethnic solos with modern and original lead breaks. Bob (drums) joined soon thereafter, providing a powerhouse of backline to take their sound from enigmatic to epic. Matt joined in 2006, to fill an aching void with a second guitar which has added much depth to their sound. Finally, Ant has completed their lineup playing bass with many years of live gig experience behind him. In 2004, Naquadah completed their single, Backlash, which was recorded at Area 51 Studios; produced by Malcolm Foster (Simple Minds, Pretenders), engineered by Mark Pavletich (8 Foot Sativa, Kosher), and mastered at Studio 301 in Australia by Don Bartley (The Living End, Powderfinger, Alanis Morrisette).Having performed in many of Auckland’s live venues over the last few years, Naquadah have found their niche and are ready to push their unique sound out to the masses.
