Get some VOODOO in ya

About Me

The Voodoo Kreepers hail from New Zealand at the bottom of the world and were born by way of a concert called the Alley Kat Stomp in April of 2006. Guitarist / Vocalist Ricki was one of the organizers of the event and knew he could throw a band together quickly to open up for Australian band The Bobkats. A quick rehearsal was had as a 4 piece, with friend Alan Lavis guesting on guitar. Only 2 originals were written at that time and performed along with many cover songs to fill the set.

After the Alley Kat Stomp was over, Ricki, Julian and Geoff never found time between other committments to get together and rehearse. UNTIL NOW. Yet again the Voodoo Kreepers found themselves faced with an offer of a gig they couldnt refuse. To open for Slim Jim Phantom of the legendary Stray Cats. Well with only 5 weeks to that gig the boys put their heads down and got to writing a bunch of songs. That show turned out to be an absolute success for The Voodoo Kreepers, winning a whole new set of fans young and old.

How does one describe the Voodoo Kreepers? In a world where stating a genre can often pigeonhole a band, The Voodoo Kreepers arent afraid to step outside their foundation of rockabilly and suck the life out of other styles of music. Whether it be country, country rock and country and western, they do it all. And just like their sexual performace in the sack, The Voodoo Kreepers will leave you wanting more. The Voodoo Kreepers do for rockabilly what Viagra does for Ron Jeremy. They will get you hard in one song, thats right, thats a guarantee!

If you want to be cooler than your friends, then start bragging about how you listened to The Voodoo Kreepers before everyone else did, trust me, this will help you score with members of the opposite sex in no time. Our new CD "Fistful of Voodoo' is now available and you can score your copy by emailing us at our address below. Band Website: this is it. i play guitar not do websites damn it
Band Members: Drums, Julian - He plays the living shit out of themDouble Bass, Geoff - Looks like he should be playing in a reggae band, but his prowess over the double bass has to be seen to be believed. Geoff has his hand in many pies as a session player playing for the likes of Donald Ried, Sharp Dressed Men and the Recliner Rockers. he is also a writer and designer for NZ Musician magazine. Guitar and Vocal, Ricki - he lives, breaths and eats and craps rock and roll, old guitars, tattoos and old cars. But he sells his soul 4 nights a week and plays at Danny Doolan's bar in the Auckland Viaduct in an acoustic duo playing Coldplay and shit like that. But it pays the bills and keeps the chops up. Ricki also narrates on a hot rod tv show in NZ called The Red Shift
Influences: All sorts. Stray Cats, Reverend Horton Heat, New Kids on The Block, Chrome Daddies, Mark Winchester, Your mum, Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Dwight Yoakham, Jim Beam, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Big Bag Voodoo Daddy's, Britney Spears, ZZ Top, The King, The Blasters, Duke Wilde, Heineiken, Chet Atkins, Mr Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves, Roy Buchanan, Danny Gatton, Jagermeister, the Retro Rockets, Metallica, Jeff Beck. the list goes on.
