I like to write, draw, ponder, wonder, speculate, conversate, and eat food.
Here's some of my History and Motivations:
When I was 14, I traveld with my family to Oregon for my Grandparents' 50th
Anniversary. As we were in transit I starred out the window and saw a starship
soar between the clouds. I saw myself on the bridge of my ship looking down
on the roads our van was rolling on. This is when I realized I had the ability
to organize my imagination, thus, I had potential to write a story. A Sci-Fi
story about a young man living in space on his ship called Avalon. Sure, sounds
boring now, but it can develop into something... but who's going to write
it, Me? Who the hell am I to write a book? When did the authors I respect realize
they wanted to (and had the ability to) write? Maybe they were starring out
a car window and it just flew to them... like me. So, I gave it a shot.
(I'm giving it a shot). I started transferring my non-corporeal imaginary worlds
on to very corporeal paper. Corpaperal, if you will. Now the spaceship 'Avalon'
and its reluctant Captain have their journeys ahead of them in
a story called "Nova"
I came up with scads more fiction in Middle and High school, then I took the
ideas to college with the crazy notion of becoming a novelist while I earn money
as a Graphic Designer. Somewhere around my second year I realized that was a
dumb idea. I am more of a visual thinker; words are not really my forte.
"My brain works in symbols and colors, so really, the Motion Picture medium
would be more viable," my brain thought. I decided to move to a
college where my stories could develop in all of the visual mediums. And I met
some people along the way with similar brains and intentions.
So here we are, in Los Angeles, trying to make our art in new and interesting
ways while still sighting our influences. I'm lucky enough to be living with
a couple of other film geeks, and this has caused my interests to branch out
exponentially. I'm considering my life at the moment as a Practical Film Studies
class, my friends are the instructors.
