About Me

About me: Harron Evoria is a spiritually inspired saxophonist with the cosmic ability to embrace an audience, taking them on a musical journey. Born July 20, in Richmond, Virginia under a full moon, Harron Evoria (pronounced Hâr-run E-vôr-ree-äh) was blessed with her grandmothers unusual name and an exceptional musical ability. Evoria means inner beauty and this beauty is personified in her original compositions. Harrons music is often described as melodic and emotionally captivating. At age seven she was introduced to jazz, which spurned her interest in fusion. She cites her early inspirations as the late Grover Washington, Jr., Spyro Gyra, and David Sanborn. At age ten she studied the clarinet and at age twelve she experimented with a variety of instruments. It was during this experimental process that she chose the saxophone as her primary form of _expression. Harron then performed with her high school jazz band. At this time, half the band was female. Though this was her first attempt at jazz improvisation, her male counterparts never intimidated her. In college she played with both jazz and rock bands. She became known for her funky solos. Harron also added radio personality, campus spin-doctor and promotions director to her growing list of accomplishments. She has opened for musicians ~ Ken Navaro, Miles Jaye, and Chuck Brown.
