About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor

I love to write, but not about myself. However, since millions of people here on myspace are able to fill their "about me" sections with witty, engaging prose describing themselves, I guess I can take a crack at it.
Family: I think family is the most important thing in life. My husband, daughter, and wonderful family members fill my life with joy. Of course, there are rough patches and sorrows, but those are the things that teach us the meaning of true love and acceptance.
Work: I'm not big on working for other people. Those who know me will laugh about this section, since I've had more jobs than I can count. Sitting behind a desk from nine to five is my version of hell, and bosses make me break out in hives. Which is probably why I found a fabulous business partner and we started our own company, Resplendence Publishing. I'm so thrilled to be my own boss, set my own hours, and best of all, work within the publishing industry. Visit us at Resplendence Publishing for additional company information.
Writing: I can't remember a time when I didn't want to be a part of the writing community. I love books. It doesn't matter if I'm reading, writing, or editing, as long as it involves books I'm happy. One day I may publish my own work, but for now, I'm having more fun than I ever thought possible because I'm helping fellow authors to acheive their dreams. I have to offer a special thanks in this section to Kathryn Falk and JoCarol Jones. You have provided me with tremendous opportunity, motivation, and support. To Lia and Michelle, I couldn't do it without you. I love you both, and offer you my undying gratitude. And of course, I can't leave out the coolest group of ladies I know, the squirrely girls.
Motherhood: When I was pregnant with my daughter, so many people told me how my life would change. Of course, much of this focused on the negative (I would never sleep again, time to myself would be nonexistent, etc). It's true that my daughter has changed my life. I wouldn't have it any other way. Seeing the world through her eyes has given me a whole new perspective. It's beautiful, and so is she.
Spirituality: I believe in a higher power, but organized religion is not for me. I consider myself a spiritualist, and I love exploring the unknown, unseen, and mysterious aspects of life. You never know what is waiting for you out there in the ether. A wise woman recently told me that the conscious mind is stupid. Only when we can tap into the subconscious do we see our true path.
Myspace Codes: MyNiceSpace.comOn perception: I'm learning that perception is so much a part of life. It's all in how you look at things. The person sitting next to you who seems so confident can in fact be filled with self-doubt. While you envy their ability to make their way in the world, and the things that they have accumulated, they may be envious of you. Everyone wears a mask. The trick is taking the time to see what lies beneath. A friend once said that I shouldn't worry what other people think of me. I should only worry about what I think of myself. Difficult advice to take at times, but great advice nonetheless.

I'd like to meet:

I enjoy meeting new people, and find MySpace to be a fascinating venue. It seems that cyberspace gives everyone the freedom to truly be who they are, and that's always a beautiful thing as far as I'm concerned (unless of course, the real you is psychotic). I look forward to meeting other writers, artists, musicians, and basically anyone who has something interesting to say or do in the world. I'd love to hear from old friends and make some new ones, so feel free to message me. One caveat: I'm not here to find dates or to meet any weird, stalker types. So if your lookin' for love on MySpace, you need to continue your search elsewhere.

Music:

Jack Johnson, The Beatles, The Cure, Deftones, Chevelle, Bob Marley, Damien Marley, Green Day, Sia, Nine Inch Nails, The Doors, Peter Tosh, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Garbage, Beastie Boys, 311, Incubus, Sublime, Sneaker Pimps, Eminem...the list goes on and on. Life would be so boring without music.

Movies:

Star Wars (all episodes), Trainspotting, The Shawshank Redemption, The Crow, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Chicago, The Princess Bride, Dazed and Confused, Mean Girls, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, Office Space, Along Came Polly, Dangerous Liasons, Crash, French Kiss, Vacation, anything with Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore or Jim Carrey. All Kevin Smith movies. He rocks. Oh, and all the John Hughes 80's flicks. Gotta love 'em.

Television:

Don't watch much television except the Noggin Network (my daughter can't get enough of it...sigh). When I have time, I like CSI, Southpark, Saturday Night Live and X-Files re-runs.

Books:

I am a bookworm, and proud of it. Reading is my escape, entertainment and love. Listing all of my favorite books would be impossible, but in general, I love romance, horror, some science fiction, self help and spirituality books, and just about anything that catches my interest. But most of the time it's all about romance. Favorite authors in the genre (aside from our wonderful RP authors) include Heather Graham, Nora Roberts, Maggie Shayne, Julia Quinn, Barbara Dawson Smith, Mary Joe Putney, and Brenda Joyce. Some of my favorite classics are The Catcher in the Rye, Romeo and Juliet, Great Expectations, Animal Farm, anything by Edgar Allen Poe, Wuthering Heights, and A Christmas Carol.

Heroes:

All who try to leave the world in better shape than they found it.
