PICK A BASTARD
pick a bastard
are a skate punk band from Bolton/Wigan, who have been belting it out fast for 5 years. The band has had various line ups, but in the last 12 months has finally settled with the best it has ever had: Jizz (lead guitar and vocals), Pipi db (Drums), Carlos (bass and vocals), and Mark (rhythm guitar). their talents go beyond playing their instruments at super speed, the recording, mixing and producing of the two CD's completed, and the third that is in progress, has all been done by drummer Pipi, who has a masters degree in sound engineering and all music and lyrics are written by Jizz, (lead guitarist and vocalist).
Their sound is unique in many ways, not least because they have fused together each of their own different influences to create a tight, fast, skate punk-esque sound. Through their vast array of gigs, their sound appeals to a wide range of audiences. They have won over audiences of 10, and audiences of 100, whatever their age, expectations, or musical preferences. Wherever they play, whoever they play to, whatever their preconceptions, T.B.S.O.C.B’s audiences always leave on a ‘Bastard’ high.
The Bastard son’s success is reflected in the fact that ‘Lesson not learned’ from their most recent demo reached the number one spot at Epitaph records, staying there for almost a month. They are constantly writing and recording new material to keep their gigs and albums fresh. They have also been approached for music to be used in a skate video due to be released in July, Creating their own music videos is something that’s currently in the pipeline for the near future.
Playing as many shows as can be booked, T.B.S.O.C.B have played all over the North West, and as far south as Birmingham, supporting the likes of punk legends G.B.H., the mighty kings of hardcore Billy Club, Sonic Boom 6 and No Comply. They regularly play gigs in Bolton, and have arranged for bands from all over the country to join them in promoting the music scene in Bolton: The Arguments from Sheffield, The Kirks from Macclesfield and Just Panic from Southport were keen to support them recently at the Dog and Partridge in Bolton. Their input into the music scene in Bolton has also included playing for Interkonnect, a local music event for charity.
Their will be a Brand new full length 'SUNNY ENGLAND' due to be released at some point in the new year, along with a vast amount of shows yet to be confirmed.
