cars layout powered by HOT FreeLayouts.com / MyHotComments the words in his rhyme tell it all, “Sittin’ in my room writing rhymes err’day / in the mirror wishing one day I’ll be on stage / in front of millions.†Born in Washington, D.C., the Brooklyn-raised rapper known as E-Lo grew up in East New York. Writing rhymes since his early high school days, his skills as a writer surpass those of your average emcee. His early mixtape ventures with hip-hop group, Da Future Squad aka D.F.S., built a buzz in Brooklyn & Queens that left many people asking for more. Inspired by such great hip-hop artists as LL Cool J, Jay Z, Nas, & Notorious B.I.G., E-Lo delivers a style strong enough to bang with your common street rapper but also knows how to attract the ladies with his commercially-sound flow.
H aving worked along side Michael Bivins and various other writers and producers, E-Lo has been credited with writing tracks for the Magnificent 7 of the Biv 10 Pee-Wee Allstars in 1999. He can also be found on various mixtape projects, drawing the attention of the young and older crowds. E-Lo hooked up with a group of individuals, collectively known as 4K, Inc. (formerly 4 Kingz Ent.), and is currently promoting a street album titled, Playin’ With A Full Deck.
“One word that describes me is determined. Why? Because through all of my ups and downs with getting my music heard I still keep pushing until something hits, and trust me, something is bound to hit!â€
I n his song No Stranger, E-Lo re-introduces himself to the hip-hop scene after a short break from recording, and also introduces his affiliation with 4K, Inc. He shouts out two of the greatest rappers and his desire to “have the same impact when Big & Pac did it.†Pimpin’ it out and getting straight to the point, his track, I’m A Pimp, exhibits his ability to switch up his swagger as he tells a story about how easily he can get to ladies. And though he isn’t about gangbanging or selling drugs (although you might get “Addicted†to his music), E-Lo drops a harder presence in his song Gangstaz Don’t Dance and supplies it through a collaborative mixture with Fantaztic of B.K.G. and Ro. A Dedication brings the fun back into the music, reminiscent of the early days of hip-hop.
“I would like to collab with Ludacris, Scott Storch, Ne-Yo, T.I., and other creative talents in the music industry.â€
A s a talented writer, vibrant performer and all-around great artist, E-Lo has much potential for success in an industry that is lacking artists with a classic style like his own.
“My mother always told me that I’d better grow up and be something; that no matter what I did that I’d better had accomplished something by the end of the day. Everyone who got to where they are had to begin where they were. I could always see music. If I were blind, through music, I’ll always have my vision.â€
