Ayanna is a 19 year old singer/songwriter who has been taking the music business by storm. As a child she excelled in musical theater, and appeared in an off broadway play titled, The Gift of Winter. She then tried out for Disney's, The Lion King, but was told her voice was too big for her 4'3 frame, but she was by far the most advanced vocalist they had seen for the role of Nala.At age 10 she began recording with the Sugar Beats, a children's group created by Sherry Kondor, daughter of Carole King, which performed 60's 70's and 80's hits. She was one of the featured soloists on the album, Car Tunes, singing The O'Jays classic hit, Love Train, and Aretha Franklin's Freeway of Love.While a member of the Sugar Beats she appeared on numerous daytime television shows such as Good Morning America, and The Rosie O'Donnell Show. After deciding to leave the Sugar Beats at age 12, Ayanna began focusing on a solo career. She performed at numerous colleges and small venues and received much attention, but her age seemed to be a problem. Ayanna then set her sights on a group. She emerged as the lead singer of the pop group Tiffany Affair.While a member of Tiffany Affair she received much praise for her vocals and unmatched performances. A reporter for Fly Magazine writes, "Ayanna struts her stuff on this track, running up and down the scale with a fury and otherwise making her case to be the sassy, sexy vocal powerhouse of the next generation," speaking of the group's top 50 single, Over It.The summer of 2007 was spent touring around the country performing in venues with the likes of Ludacris, Akon, Omarion, Gym Class Heroes, Kimberly Locke, Constantine, Quiet Drive, Paula Deanda, Baby Boy the Prince, Kat DeLuna, Brooke Hogan, and Lumidee. The group appeared at numerous sports events as well, with the highlights being singing the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden and Dover Downs (Nascar).After a busy summer the group made a decision to disband, as everyone decided it would be best to pursue solo careers and get involved with other projects. Since the split Ayanna has been working hard on her solo project, receiving much interest from labels and producers. Ayanna has numerous performances coming up, so check back for show dates and new music!
