Another Level Records (ALR) is an independent record label that was started in 1999 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The label was started to promote and influence twin city youth to explore the music industry. The founder and CEO David "T.C." Ellis felt that there was a need for youth to learn about the music industry and have a chance to explore a dream. In the first year the company was already getting great fame and put out their first CD. It was titled "HIV AINT NO JOKE". The CD was all about promoting safe sex and abstinence. It had a great positive message, but also affected and educated a lot of people. "HIV AINT NO JOKE" was created entirely by students at the High School for Recording Arts students. The collaboration started a great relationship. For the last seven-years, Another Level Records and the High School for Recording Arts have collaborated on many other CD's including; "HIV STILL AINT NO JOKE", "U HAVE THE RIGHT", "STUDENT COMPILATION VOL. 1", STUDENT COMPILATION VOL 2" and the most recent "MY EDUCATION" which was done along with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education.The most up to date collaboration that we have done is with Nuborn Productions. Nuborn Productions, is a well know production company in the Twin Cities. Under Nuborn, there is "Out Of Reach", a group that can amaze anyone. They are famous for their hit songs "North Exposure", "Dreams", and "Nightlight". The group works with Anoter Level Reocrds on the marketing and promotion of their music. "Out Of Reach" is extremely talented as you can tell. They are well know in Minnesota, California, Georgia, and Massachusetts. Look out for their soon coming EP.Another project we are working on is the "Fo-Show Mixtape". The "Fo-Show Mixtape" is an mixtape cd that is from students at the High School for Recording Arts. This project is all about promoting the artist at the high school and The Fo-Show. The Fo-Show is a radio show that Another Level Records produces. The purpose of the Fo-Show is a radio show in the twin cities to promote artist with Another Level Records and youth around the country. The Fo-Show airs Sunday mornings at 8:30 on Radio One Inc's. We have been going more towards solo artist instead of compilations. Although we will still be releasong compliation albums our main focus is on creating solo albums for artist on Another Level Records. This change was brought on by the Labels president Matthew Brown. Brown, who has been involved with the company since 2004, knew that the feeling in the music indusrty was changing and he knew that the company had to change as well. So in 2005 the company started working on the solo albums of the artist. The first of these solo projects to be released is Kaspers ablum "The Brutal Truth", which is set to be released in fall 2006.
