HellaMinik

Over the years, HellaMinik has provided a new and exciting musical outlet for the Hip Hop heads of the Twin Cities. They were once nominated for the "Best Kept Secret" award at the first annual Twin Cities Hip Hop Awards. HellaMinik isn't a secret as much as it is a growing force in the International Hip Hop community. In December of 2006, Miss Kay, a very beautiful and talented artist/producer, released her Freedom of Movement CD, which included a track featuring HellaMinik. The song on the CD entitled Front2Back is available on an international scale and provides many people and a growing fan base around the world to hear the explosive lyrical talent of Hella-Cik and Hot Minik. The members are as follows. Hella-Cik: Quick-witted lyricist, tongue twisting genius and gifted writer a.k.a. "The Hook Monster". Hella-Cik is the attitude and strength of the group. He is the slick, low toned, calculating, most laid back person you'll ever meet in person. But on stage, he's a creator, a performer, and a highly skilled entertainer. He not only writes his own lyrics, but he writes multi-layered and ingenious hooks and laces together extraordinary smash mouth phrases. He assists in arranging the music that many fans bounce to and takes a forefront in creating the vibe that makes the hood "throw 'em up" and women shake their tail. Hot Minik: LIB native. He is a lyrical spiritualist and an omni conscience thinker. A.k.a. Red Eye Iron Rock, Hot Minik is the soul and consciousness of the group. Much like Hella-Cik, Hot Minik composes more that just "clever" rhymes and phrases. He creates and envisions. He thinks beyond the next set. He is always looking for the next hot topic and explores his inner thoughts to create some of the hottest lyrical phrases you ever wanted to hear. Many of the hooks are performed by Hot Minik whose baritone voice adds a very soulful flavor to much of the sound of the group. But it's not always about metaphors, similes and vocal composition; Hot Minik will rock the party and get the party rockin'. HellaMinik exists for the fans that support the music and for those that seek the urban flavor that had been missing in the Hip Hop community. There should never be a buffer between the people that listen to the music and the people that perform it. There should never be a moment when a fan questions performers abilities onstage as opposed to what they hear on CD. Their skills are unquestionable. Their thirst for success is unquenchable.
