InU Records will release Urban Gospel singer/songwriter Sunny Mays debut CD, More Than A Dream this year.
Sunny interweaves soulful R&B, pop, and contemporary gospel to reach beyond the walls of the church. His music is anything but traditional. And his carefully, crafted songwriting is poignant and thoughtful. It evokes a clear message that our loving, Heavenly Father desires to have a REAL relationship with us. And the things that matter to us are NOT insignificant to Him at all.
Sunny captures this sentiment in the song, Seems Like Forever. It is written from the perspective of God who is speaking to us; Hes telling us that Hes been waiting to receive our affections for so long. And He wants us to involve Him in our day-to-day lives.
Other songs like You Are Paradise and Mornings are love songs to God. And in Life: What A Beautiful Color, Sunny tackles the sensitive issue of abortion from the perspective of a little boy thought to be aborted. Plus, riveting storylines and pulsating beats are prominent in up-tempo cuts like A Touch Of Grace, Prodigal Son, and Caught Up In The Middle."
He has shared the same stage with artists like John P. Kee, Men of Standard, Nakitta Clegg, Ted & Sheri, Paul Porter and The Christianaires, Smokie Norful, and Kevin Davidson & The Voices, William B. Demps Jr., and Derrick Monk. For a number of years, he also sang with a Reggae Gospel band that conducted musical workshops and concerts in Florida. Plus, he's been a regular at youth conferences and Christian events.
Sunnys desire for people to truly worship God; and get to know Him as God the Father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit motivates him to keep pressing on. His personable approach to ministry causes the young and old alike to be more receptive to Christ.
