DI'TA MONIQUE born Dita Monique Jackson “Her vocal cords have been touched by some higher power. She can put the hair on the back of your neck at attention. Her Range is phenomenal. She can start a song in the basement vocally speaking, and push it to the heavens.” Pittsburgh Post Feb 24, 2001Di’ta Monique has made an indelible mark on the music landscape. One of the selected individuals, who are able to transcend the limitations that frequently, pigeonholes creative artist. The versatile, Rochester, NY - born woman has consistently demolished the notion that she is “just another Songstress.” Indeed, the description “Vocalist” is far more applicable to Di’ta Monique as she is one of the nations Top Female Vocalist. Pronounced dead at seven months due to smoke inhalation (house fire) and revived at the hospital, Di’ta has been called by many as the “Miracle Child”. The only survivor of three siblings from the fire; this “Miracle Child” has been singing since the age of 3 and mesmerizing thousands for many years thereafter. After numerous of first place finishes in national talent contests, Di’ta has had the pleasure to perform on the same stage with Commissioned, the Winans, John P. Kee, and Yolanda Adams to name a few. She has also opened for the Mississippi Mass Choir and the Legendary Charles Fountain and the Five Blind Boys.Dita was one of the soloists on the Edwin Hawkins Music and Art Seminar album as well as one of the featured soloists on Edwin Hawkins’ 1998 CD entitled “Love Is the Only Way”. She can also be heard on the “Young Artist for Christ” album, which she composed and sang one of the tracks. Di’ta has toured in Europe with Edwin Hawkins, sang at many concerts, conferences, events, and churches nationally, and has developed a fan base that just wants to hear her voice more, more, and more.Di’ta demonstrates her skills not only by singing, but she is also a songwriter and actress. Her vocal abilities and creativity; combined with star quality charisma has made her one of the real gems in the world of theater. Since 1993 she has toured nationally with Off – Broadway plays.
