Carmelitta was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in upstate New York. Her parents pastor one of the leading churches in Upstate New York. Born into a musical family she began singing soprano in her church adult Radio Choir at four years old and went on to sing, solo and direct in various other choirs in church and throughout school and in the community. Although she was not music major, in junior college her music theory professor often requested her to sing for his classes as demonstration. Her soulful and melodic soprano voice has blessed the innumerable as she has travel extensively within the USA ministering in song. She is an original member of the Gospel female group "The Angel'lics" who were the off-springs of the "The Angelic Saints" of Rochester, New York. Carmelitta has performed with or was opening performer for Edwin Hawkins Music & Arts Seminar Choir, Proclaim, Vickie Winans, Marvin Winans, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Beverly Crawford, Commissioned, Young Artist for Christ, Mattie Moss Clark, Dorinda Clark Cole, Dita Monique, Sylvia Nicholson-Mickens, James Moore, Bishop Charles Watkins, Leonard Champion, The Judds, Grady Nichols, Yolonda Adams, Hezekiah Walker, Donnie McClurkin, Michael English, Deliverance and others. In the late 1990's she sang and traveled with Bishop Carton Pearson, Higher Dimension Sanctuary Choir and AZUSA Choir and Highest Praise Singers. During that time she wrote, "We Give You the Highest Praise" and later collaborated to add the finishing touches.
