Question 7.
7. What is the "410 Formula"? What is "I AM NOT OK?"
It's magic...the "410 FORMULA" is about being the best. It's not something you take off @ night and put on in the morning; it's a way of life. The 410 FORMULA is about establishing a positive legacy, cultivating a culture and making the substantial and significant difference that's sorely needed in the underground music scene -- in Baltimore and beyond. Big tune after big tune. Big show after big show.
"I AM NOT OK" started a couple of Dubwar's ago...Juakali was on the mic and he just kept saying, "I AM NOT OK"...he seemed perfectly ok to me. After the long bus ride home -- it was really a sign of things to come. It's now my "mission statement for 2008". Here's what it means:
"I AM NOT OK" is a call to action. It's about not being content with anything that you are doing or anything that you have done. Each of us can do more -- for ourselves and each other. There's no time to "take it easy". It's not about being greedy, but it is about wanting more for yourself (there is a difference). It's about pushing the limits (numbers and people) -- as far as they can go. I AM NOT OK.
If you're wondering where i cut my dubs....i cut @ Turnstyle Records. Ask for Oscar or Sue. They will sort you out. Tell them I sent you.

I am:
thankful for the things that I have, material and non-material.
enjoying life.
in search of the truth.
in search of constant improvement; personal, professional and spiritual.
in search of understanding among all men & women -- especially women & relationships. One of these days, i'll figure all of this out.
in search of why. Not what....WHY.
a representative of all those that have helped me along the way. For that, I give thanks.
eventually going to make my own music. it's gonna take time.
an even bigger fan of two local (Baltimore) dj's, DanGee and JohnAsk . They're the dj's i wish i could be.
eventually going to continue my education. I need to. I need to learn more.
planning to become more involved in my community. In any way possible. I find that I'm doing things now, but i need to do more for other people.
Question 10.
10. I wish.............
I wish/I am wishing for:
Barack Obama to be the next president of the United States.
the Orioles would win more baseball games.
an end to homelessness, hunger and world poverty.
the Ravens didn't fire Brian Billick. It's gonna be very difficult for me to watch them this season.
the troops would come home -- safely and immediately. No more war.
I didn't sell some of my Baltimore club collection a few years ago.
that Johnny Gill and Stacy Lattisaw did more duets together. Sure -- they did an album together....but i want more. They really were the "Perfect Combination". Speaking of music......
Cherelle and Alexander O'Neal did an album. Saturday Love....Everything I miss At Home...Never Knew Love Like This....classic slow jam business, but i feel they had more to give. I know I was more than willing to listen.
i had attended a different college.
a cure for AIDS.
an end to the violence on the streets of Baltimore -- and -- in all major cities, but Baltimore especially. I LIVE HERE.
I'll add more to this list -- eventually.
Question 11.
11. What / who do you love?
I love:
my Mother.
My girlfriend.
my music.
City Cafe .
Ben Sherman clothing .
honesty.
Tony Kornheiser & Michael Wilbon. Their show on ESPN, "Pardon The Interruption" is brilliant.
Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Since The Wire is no longer on TV, SVU is the best show on TV. I love the relationship Benson and Stabler enjoy. They care about each other without being romantic. Kudos to the writers for not going down this path. Benson and Stabler are individually great, but collectively -- unbeatable.
Calzone's restaurant in San Francisco. Everything, and i do mean EVERYTHING is good on the menu. TRUST ME.
Adidas. Especially the old school/vintage stuff. You can't lose! I mean, who doesn't like an Adidas track jacket?
The Cheesecake Factory. My gosh! All about avocado egg rolls!
Dionysus in Baltimore. It's my favorite bar in the city. Hands down. They have great bartenders. The food is top notch and I can walk there from my place. If you're ever in the mood for a drink -- message me. I'll meet you there.
Roots clothing. Proper Canadian clothing....that looks cool.
New Edition. Yes -- New Edition. They're one of the few groups that changed lead singers and not missed a beat. (You can't say the same for Van Halen....and to a certain extent -- The Temptations.) They all enjoyed success away from the group. Ralph, Bobby and Johnny all were successful solo artists -- Ronnie, Ricky and Mike....they were BBD. I can't even say they were a "boy band" -- they were a group. What's better than Mr. Telephone Man? I rest my case.
Robin Meade. She's the "other lady" I wake up to her every morning. Yes, she's brilliant. Yes, I have a crush on her.
Nigella Lawson. If Robin Meade is the "other lovely lady i wake up to in the morning", Nigella is the lovely lady that i want to have dinner with. Needless to say, she'll be doing the cooking.
Ric Flair. I'm sad that he's gone from wrestling, I enjoyed the Ric Flair era. Charisma personified. Stylin' and profilin'! The kiss-stealin, wheelin'-dealin', limousine ridin', jet-flyin' son-of-a-gun. The Nature Boy. There will never be another. His promos were legendary. Youtube them if you don't believe me. He was "ballin'" long before anyone else was.....and he did it with a power mullet. WOOOOOO !
You don't lose faith in winners -- I'm playing to win; each and every day of my life.
