ben is from canberra in australia, now living in london. he plays guitar, bass, tiple, charango, mandolin, banjo, tres, pipa, zither and ukulele. he studied at the a.n.u. canberra school of music (98’-02’) from which he received a b.mus. with 1st class honors in jazz performance. during this time he was giving a scholarship for his last year of study and was awarded the university medal and friends of the school of music award. ben then moved to sydney where he became in demand as a guitarist, playing regularly with the best of australia’s jazz musicians. he was a member of james morrison’s touring band, wanderlust, king curly, sydney all star big band, and many of sydney’s modern jazz projects. ben has toured through china, new zealand and has recently performed at the 06' 'bassplayer magazine live' with the tal wilkenfeld trio. ben is now based in london where he has begun working with the top exponents of a wide variety of musical genres including:
