You thought you heard them all but you haven’t heard it how Lex is bringin’ it. Sit back and let the lyrics take you to a new respect for hip-hop, given to you from a different perspective.
Born and raised in the heart of Southwest Philadelphia. Lex, a product of a strong and powerful culture, was determined to ignore the constant roadblocks and negativity thrown at him. With many doors shut, slammed and sometimes never answered, he knew that he still had a place in hip-hop. Taking a cue from the music that molded him, the realization that nothing worthwhile comes without adversity began to take shape.
Determined to get the attention from the industry, he knew he had to work diligently to pursue his dreams. While working solely on his own endeavors, he managed to catch the ears of many journalists, producers, radio personalities, artists, managers, attorneys and record companies. He continues to have several fellow artists approaching him after his performances, noting that his energy and creative lyrics are an inspiration to them.
Lex has demonstrated that his respect and love for hip-hop is not a passing fad. Learning from his previous two independent releases, he knew he had to create a unique edge. It started with catching the ear of Cosmic Kev’s (WUSL-FM) “Hometown Jam†segment. This led to doing four separate intros for the Hot Boyz’ (WUSL-FM) show on the Number ..1 urban station in Philadelphia. Working on a time line that was running short, and disgusted with the procrastination of local producers, he started creating tracks for himself.
The Streets of Philly are Talking
Snow of Phillyhiphop.com says: "Don't get it twisted, Lex is one of the most slept on emcees in Philly and is equally one of Philly's most talented wordsmiths and performers. After coming up through the ranks and paying his dues in Southwest Philly and beyond, I have no doubt that that's all about to change. A cerebral rapper, Lex is an emcee's emcee."
Pooch Man, formerly of Power 99's Hot Boyz and currently co-host of 103.9 The Beat's morning show says: "Lex is one of the hottest unsigned emcees in Philly." After playing his intro for the "Hot 9 at 9" segment, Pooch said: "Yo, that's Lex, he's dope, and he's white.....but you would never know it."
Damon C. Williams, hip-hop journalist for the Philadelphia Daily News and The Source magazine: “Exquisite lyrics, breath control and delivery. When it comes to emcees, Lex is the total package. If you want good hip-hop, then you want Lex.â€
His latest projects, "The Midnight Files: The Mixtape" and "The 11th Hour" will continue to show that he is a force to be reckoned with in hip-hop. Don't let your eyes deceive you. Soon a deal will be made!!!
