Words the Movement

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I think my page, videos, blogs and pics pretty much tell the story of Christine.
Any questions?
I welcome friend add requests, however, I do ask that you please send me a message introducing yourself along with your add request. I'd like to match a person with a default photo.
I've had issues with networking marketing companies/scams/friend collectors so I'm now making it a point to have communicated with each of my friends at least once (hopefully more). This is a good thing, right? Old fashioned neighborly values here on myspace.
Thanks!

Words the Movement (WTM) is: Why Our Reality Demands Storytelling
WELCOME TO WORDS THE MOVEMENT
I'm not trying to get you to change your mind - just to speak it!
After all, our brains weren't created on an assembly line, so why should our opinions be?
If my words somehow inspire or provoke you to express your words, then I have done my job as a citizen of this world.
My words are not meant to get you to change your mind or invalidate your words (that's the opposite of the movement).
My words are meant to inspire you to speak your mind so that others will hear and be inspired to do the same.
Get inspired, get excited, or get angry - most importantly, get your words out there for the world to hear!
Say it loud, say it proud – Our words have the power to change the world!

WTM Mission Statement:
The mission of Words the Movement is to rekindle in new generations, a passion for words and an understanding of the power they have to shape and change our world.
How you can Join the Movement:
You already have, just by being here, the official hub of the movement! Also visit The Word Shoppe at: www.onecitizenswords.com
The store features colorful, creative designs on t-shirts, sweatshirts, bumper stickers, coffee mugs, and more. Show your love of words and free expression and encourage the world around you to do the same!
Also subscribe to my blog (see above) where you can read excerpts from the book, press releases, updates on the movement, and play fun interactive word games to feed your own love of words!

Anyone who knows me knows that I am absolutely passionate and committed in everything I do, especially my career. What turns me on completely, therefore, is meeting other people who are passionate about what they do in life. Nothing is more exciting to me than watching people do what they love and love doing it. A big piece of my life's purpose is helping to inspire and excite that passion in other people.

One Citizen’s Words
by,
Christine Whitmarsh

A Collection of Contemporary Life Philosophies

Each one of us, as citizens of this world, possesses immense power to impact the world with the words we think, speak, write and share. In this book, the definition of the word “citizen” is far from political and nationalistic. Instead it refers to “a native or inhabitant of a particular place.”

We are all citizens of a rapidly changing society and constantly fluxing world and the power of individual self-expression is stronger than ever. The words we use to express ourselves come in the form of questions, philosophies, observations, opinions, musings and theories. This is my own collection of words – in all these forms and more, delivered with some humor, sarcasm, politics and pop culture. My intention is to spread the desire to share words with all the other citizens of the world. As a society we can no longer afford to keep words, the ultimate form of self-expression, to ourselves. Words are vital to the continued progress of our world. By sharing mine, I hope to inspire you to acknowledge and share yours. So here I am, one citizen of the world, and these are my words.

Order now!

"One Citizen's Words" is available on:
Amazon.com, Borders.com, Target.com, Alibris.com

Locally at...
Zephyr Bookstore 1501 S. Virginia St. Reno (at Mt. Rose St.)

One Reader was very kind and generous in comparing my book to the words of the late great essayist and satirist Kurt Vonnegut!

Another Reader Review from Amazon:

"This is the refreshing emergence of a new voice. For all of us who enjoy a new and different viewpoint on life, this is a gem. I found myself laughing out loud many times. Christine Whitmarsh gives us a new view on our day-to-day lives and connects the dots of our culture in ways you might never otherwise consider. This is indeed a fine debut of a talented essayist and social critic."
-- Alan Fox, Author of The Seeker in Forever

And now, more about me...

My life is a life of creativity surrounded by creative people. This is a good thing. I enjoy taking chances, changing my mind and then combining both activities. After all my grandfather always said: "Only a fool doesn't change his mind".
