About Me

F'er of the ineffable. Garden of Eden apple eater. Philosopher healer. Likes to howl at the moon. Artist and Living room dance choreographer. Self Surmounter. Void explorer. Convertible driver. Big dollar clocker.

My Interests

creating everything I want from life, self exploration, truth, art, fun, building an empire, helping others

I'd like to meet:

she looks like Aly Michalka, only a bit little closer to my age, and we're both like: ya, uh huh

Music:

Mark Sandman, the lead singer of Morphine, is one of my heroes. Their music is so dark and rich, such an unflinching exploration of taboo lands, with a full, smooth sound provided only by bass, sax, drums and Sandman's voice. I still listen to their stuff now and then. Some other past favorites: David Byrne/Talking Heads, P.J. Harvey, Ben Folds, Radiohead, The Police, Jim Morrison, The Beatles, Mos Def, some rap, Liz Phair, Cat Power, Iggy Pop, electronica, jazz and blues...I mostly flip around satellite radio now when I'm home, I like to listen to eclectic/world music or just weird stuff on 88.1

Movies:

All things Stanley Kubrick and David Lynch; IFC, Sundance. Some favorite DVD's: Something Wild (with Ray Liota), Center of the World (A love story (?) about a boyish millionaire and a stripper), Fight Club, Body Heat, Stop Making Sense (Talking Heads, the big suit tour), To Live and Die in L.A., Demonlover (with Connie Nielsen, check it out, it rocks), Vampire's Kiss, Freddie Got Fingered, Ghost World, Apocalyse Now, Brick, La aventura, La Notte, Bladerunner, Pumpkin (Christina Ricci), American Werewolf in London, Repo Man, Cherish

Television:

South Park, The Hills, the History Channel, talk soup, www.joefrank.com

Books:

Books about creating everything you want in your life(like "Ask and it is Given"); authors that have meant a lot to me: Nietsche, Don Delillo "Sometimes the very thing we are reluctant to touch seems the very fabric of our salvation", A Farewell to Arms, Catcher in the Rye, 1984, Brave New World, The Stranger, are all some favorites. For a couple of years all I read was Carl Jung, (and Edinger, Jung's student-"Ego and Archetype" is a great summary of a lot of Jung): finding and honoring ALL parts of the self, the shadow, the disowned, rejected parts, as the key to wholeness; God supporting Job in his case against God

Heroes:

"I move slow, underwater, I know my way around Everybody knows me I grew up in this town...I don't have to shoot I don't even have to aim I just smile, deal me in...I got one million, two million can't remember how many millions but millions, I'll tell ya, And I'm exactly where I wanna be right now, Oh yea, all right, mmm hmm, I got a call back from the wishing well"
