Ian Sharkey

About Me

Ian was born and raised 15 miles west of Manhattan and started Djing in high school when he was asked to be part of a DJ crew that hosted 4 turntable battles at local halls and hotel ballrooms.
When Freestyle and Hip House started crossing over into Techno a mixed tape of his found its way to "Lord" Michael Caruso. At the time Michael was hosting parties in Staten Island (Red Spot, Ozone, Off the Wall, Caves) and soon after he made his way to NYCs Limelight taking a few Djs including Ian "Vetro" with him.
Soon after, Ian was playing clubs such as Palladium, Tunnel, Roxy, Element, Robots, the Ritz, and became the resident DJ at The Building. Ian was billed with some of the top techno Djs of the 90's such as Jeff Mills, Joey Beltram, Lenny Dee, Moby, Repete, Frankie Bones, Charlie Cassanova, and Keoki. He has opened for bands such as the Beastie Boys, The Bogmen, Black 47, and The Prodigy.
After graduating from The Institute of Audio Research he worked for various record labels before settling down at Caroline/Astralwerks. Ian left Caroline to be the DJ for the Elwood "Parlance of Our Time" tour that took him to most of the states and Europe.
He has produced numerous projects including Asic Shurah, Green Room (featuring Tracy Wilson), Coppe, Amoeba (featuring Tes), Extended Nutwerk, Single Digit Warriors, and continues here with his self titled solo project.
