King Mbutu

FEAR guitarist Philo Cramer and AGRESSION drummer Mark Aber formed a side project band back in 1985 called KING M'BUTU. The band produced their own self titled 8 song album and were opening for bands like Wall Of Voodoo as well as headlining alot of their own shows in the Los Angeles area. The band attracted the attention of Slash Records who put out the GERMS and the FEAR records. They put up a large sum of money in 1987 for a demo of nine songs which were mixed, engineered, and co-produced by my friend the famous JON X. Slash/Warner Records liked a few of the songs so much that they brought in producer Matt Wallace who had just done the FAITH NO MORE "Epic" album to produce/re-record some of the tunes. The plan was to put out an EP but do to artistic differences(Ha Ha) things did not work out and the band broke up in 1988.
