About Me


Dj Kaenow, / Deon Butler born and raised in Miami, Florida. He started his musical career at the age of 13. Mixing records was something that he loved. When graduating from high school he attended FIU (Florida International University) where he started his first career as a radio DJ. FIU was a college radio station up and coming. His first show aired in 1999 called the Vanishing Point. The shows format was based on the genres of Electronic Dance music, Progressive, Trance, House and Tribal.
The radio show was a hit and aired for over 5 years giving Miami a big influences on the underground dance culture. It also gave local artist a chance to air their music. The radio station soared to new heights making it one of the most listened to college radio stations in Miami. This gave Kaenow the chance to take his music to new levels. The Vanishing Point was in much demand from the general public. Kaenow and his partner David Alexander took the show live every Saturday night. The residency was held at Zanzibar Washington Ave. South Beach, Miami Florida.
The electronic music scene in Miami was growing by the masses. Underground radio stations and Raves were taking Miami by storm. Kaenow & Alexander were at the top of Miamis playlist, Performing under the name System Shock. A sound that was full of uplifting synths and progressive beats. They were a staple in the underground movement. After finishing his residency at Zanizbar, Kaenow had the chance to play at some of Miami legendary clubs and festivals from, Amnesia, KGB/The Mission, Shadow Lounge, Liquid, Club Space, Ultra Music Festival and Zen Festival.
