George Carrasco Bio:
Defining the term DJ , what used to be a simple term in regards to the actual job description itself, has evolved into footnote to the producer/remixer title that primarily inhabits the ranks of an ever more competitive landscape of talented individuals that have made it a point to set themselves apart from the masses not only by properly displaying an apt talent for programming groundbreaking and moving sets during DJ performances but also being able to extend that proficiency and attention to detail in the production arena. Enter George Carrasco. A self declared lifetime student of the craft since receiving a second chance at life after walking away from an accident that could have taken his life. "Losing control of that car that night a hundred and thirty miles per hour and being able to walk away from a smoking rubble of twisted metal gives you a new perspective on life when God is gracious enough to offer you a "do-over" at life." Says George, with an exhausted gasp.
So with a new lease on life a new chapter opens up in his life. Music. Much like with most dj's turned producers, ground zero in the production arena begins with an obsession to make things your own. It starts with hours laboring in the studio making edits, adjustments and tweaks to tracks as well as relayering drums and reconstructing tracks to his liking. From here the obsession only gets worse as he starts to dabble in actual production after a mention by a friend of an intuitive, but powerful, piece software that would spark the versatile artist that stands before you today. Fast forward three years... After trudging through the dj trenches of an ever more competitive landscape and about to throw in the towel a gig and a chance encounter made possible through a close friend at the time changes everything. Its on a late February afternoon back in 2006 that he gets introduced to local upstarts, who's stock is soaring to new heights, Parantula. Comprised of dj's Gino Bacallao, QBA, and Andrew Satz, they take George in under their wing as their would be protoge and give George the chance of a lifetime... remix their first track thats due out on none other than Juicy Traxx, sublabel to indie monster Juicy Music run by Robbie Rivera and his right hand Willie Morales. From there on out its almost history, being vouched for by two top dj's in the local scene and a hot record label began to give George the opportunity to showcase his skill in the clubworld through bookings in area venues as well as through his music being supported by most every major jock in the Miami area.
With an influence that spans the sub-genres within dance music itself as well as other styles of music such as rock, jazz, and the earlier days of hiphop and r & b its no surprise that George's calling card has been his versatility and genuine pallatte of sound at his production disposal. Weather its keeping pace with techno or tech house sound thats dominating the books of many of the worlds top jocks or pushing the limits with tribal/electro dancefloor bombs the list of supporters only continues to grow with each release which includes Robbie Rivera, David Guetta, Matt Samuels, Edgar V, Oscar G, Charlie Solana, Danny Graham, Willie Morales, Armanda Pena, Parantula (QBA & Andrew Satz), Louis Dee, Patrick M, Ivanno Bellini, Roland, Diaga, Shawn Rudnick, Andrew Chibale, Kaenow, Joe Cozzi, Inphinity, Mixin Marc, Erich Ensastigue, Tom Stephan (Superchumbo), Kobbe, Martin Accorsi, Chus & Ceballos, Richie Santana, Peter Bailey and many others across the globe.
So at 27 years old what's the next move? Push to be a globe trotting dj and get play all over the world or make your mark as a musician... "Its leaving the biggest footprint possible on both sides of issue." He says. "I want to build the kind of longevity in this fickle business that transcends the one hit wonders... and theres only one way to do it, and that's staying hungry to keep pushing the limits of creativity while staying humble enough to know that no matter how far you go or how famous one becomes you must NEVER lose track of where you came from and what got you there."

Living in a day and age where greed and envy consume everything in their in their avaricious path, and the ever prevalent correlation that the words disc jockey have with the phrase "one man show" there's a certain kind of resiliency and humbleness put on display when you come across two individuals that have chosen to cast their own interest in personal gain aside only to present to the world an all encompassing juggernaut of sound... I give you, Teknowledge.
With support that reads like a who's who in dance music, Roger Sanchez, Dubfire, Danny Howells, Oscar G and Superchumbo to name a few, its easy to see why the world is taking notice of Teknowledge. Broken down to its individual parts you get a budding producer in George Carrasco that had begun to make a name for himself since mid 2006 with production work and remixes featured the world over and supported by icons in the industry like Robbie Rivera and David Guetta and in Mika Materazzi you get a veteran audiophile of a dj thats been quietly blind-siding club patrons with an edgy underground sound that never fails to whip 'em into a veritable frenzy. Its this harmonious balance of yin and yang that makes the combination so volatile and so successful. "Even though Mika's productions talents are limited when it comes to the studio his input is invaluable and priceless and its given way to such a dynamic plethora of ideas that I never would have come up on my own." says George. "His experience and sincere love for the music is something that you tend to lose when you get involved in developing yourself as a producer, as i kind of did, so his inclusion in this venture has given me a chance to re-kindle that perspective that I hadn't really forgotten but more set aside to give myself the proper time it takes tackle the learning curve associated with becoming a solid and reputable producer." "Getting George back up to speed wasn't an easy task." explains Mika. "The longer people get set in their ways the harder it is to open their eyes and ears to new things but we managed to reach a common ground that has us exactly on the same page regardless if we're in the studio or in the dj booth."
So with 2008 being a success that started from scratch, no reference was made of either individual when music was released or submitted to truly test their talents, and 2009 inching its way towards Winter Music Conference and beyond where do two kids, George being 27 and Mika being 26, with this much potential go? "As far as this rocket ship takes us," agree the youngsters. "Around the world and everywhere in between," says Mika with George nodding in agreeance next to him. Its with that attitude and the foundation that they've laid for themselves that leaves Teknowledge poised to make their time to come exponentially more and more successful.
