Hiphop producer Jake the Break started producing in the year 2000. His biggest musical influences came from the classic sounds of 90s hiphop. Of course he´s influenced by the funk and soul music of the past too. Jakes style is sample based, mixing the new techniques with the old flavours and first and foremost Jake stays true to the roots of traditional hiphop.
The early years, he spent digging and developing his own style but luckily, all that early beat material did not go unnoticed; Staffro & Flam discovered Jakes raw talent and asked if he would be interested of joining the music group Recluse Recordings. That was the start of the companys own music production team called The Recluse Crew, which collaborated with the talented Synoptic Pressure (Minneapolis, MN) emcees on the album "The Art of Raw Sound". The album is distributed worldwide via Timewarp Distribution & Kool Kat Records and the reception has been great, especially in Japan.
Jake´s production talent is featured on The Kollabo Brothers album, "For My Peoples" which is a collaboration project by Staffro and DJ Kool Ski of Kool Kat Records. The album released in the may 2006, and it features many legendary mcs from the United States.
On the album, Jake has had the great honor of producing a song featuring Afu-Ra and he´s also co-produced a song with Staffro featuring Donald D.Jake the Break and Recluse Crew are busy working on several upcoming releases for Recluse Recordings and doing music production work for various international artists. Jake also produces for mcs in his native country of Finland and beyond, so, if you need beats? Holla at cha boy!
