Some musicians come together to become famous, others to become rich, yet others form a band to keep boredom at bay and write beautiful pop songs. Songs which capture the feeling of endless sunday afternoons in the middle of nowhere, songs that immerse you in a warm sea of sound, made with a minimum of musical means: shimmering guitar sounds, a rock-solid rhythm section and lyrics that make time stand still.
Sounds like? U2, Placebo and The Cure are often cited as musical references by outsiders.
After the release of the Spirit Link EP in 2004, Ocean's Edge really started to make a name. A rapidly increasing number of live gigs playing their original songs resulted in an amazing 2006: dozens of shows in the southwestern part of The Netherlands, an appearance in the TV-show Klipzz, gigs at the Alive and Mosselrock festivals and the first place in the talent contest Hooikoorts. On top of that, the band found a musical ally in singer-songwriter Danny Vera for the recording of their second EP.
The future? A promotion tour for the Forever Seventeen EP is taking place and the band are keen on spreading their music around the world!
