Sounds Like: Hard to define your own sound or compare yourself to someone, but I suppose perhaps I sound a bit like an ethnic Norah Jones, or a really jazzy and Brazilian Sade. Bebel Gilberto and I also have in common a sultry smoothness of sound and a reverence for classic bossa nova. My heavy Billie Holiday influence tends to come through in most of my singing, but if you listen closely, you'll also hear the soulful influence I got from Whitney Houston and other pop/soul divas I grew up with. Hopefully, this amalgamation has lead to a sound somehow entirely my own. I would love to hear your comments! Others who's music is similar to mine: Emilio Santiago, Durval Ferreira, Zizi Possi, Leila Pinheiro, Ivan Lins, Guinga, Gretchen Parlato, Giana Viscardi, Barbara Mendes, Diana Krall, Diane Reeves, Gal Costa, João Bosco, Nana Caymmi, Nara Leão, Rosa Passos, Shirley Horn, Chiara Civello, Astrud Gilberto, João Gilberto, Joyce.
