Born of English and French parents, raised in the UK, I am a writer producer and composer living in Venice Beach, CA.
I am an owner and Creative Director of Mophonics , a music services production/publishing company. We are a leading creator of original music, operating strongly in the commercials and film/TV sync worlds. As well as creating original music scores, we also find and develop artists, creating albums, and finding innovative ways of placing them in branded spaces.
FILM
I was fortunate to land a gig composing and producing a full length score for Alejandro Monteverde's 2006 feature debut Bella , which went on to win the Toronto Film Festival Peoples Choice award. This was followed by a sparse, atmospheric score for independent feature Ciao .
COMMERCIALS
More than just 'keeping the lights on', our commercials work is varied and constantly stimulating. I and my composers at Mophonics have created original music scores for high profile ad campaigns from Apple to Adidas, Nissan to Nike, Visa to Verizon. Still today its a buzz to see my music on primetime TV ads. We also do pro-bono work for good causes like the One Voice Movement and the LA Tap Project.
ARTISTS
Most recently I have been collaborating with Joey Ryan . We've created a body of work thats finding its way around into film (2 songs were in Bella), to American TV (most recently One Tree Hill), to ads (most recently a Wrigley's Extra campaign in the UK); some of these songs will be on Joey's Mophonics Recordings debut "..with it's roots above and it's branches below", due out later in 2008. Prior to that I teamed up with Daniela Bove to make her folktronic 10 song debut "Deep Blue"; and back in 2002 I collaborated with Tom Baxter producing his "Day In Verona" LP - the rich acoustic feast that helped push Baxter into the limelight he's enjoying today.
