About Me

..................... ......................... ................... .......... ........ ... 'Hoping to meet someone... I’m tired of the noisy, 3rd grade conversations that I've always encountered in bars. I've had my fill of dating games, and I think I've had enough of being single. I love playing with kids (in particular, with my sisters' kids) -- and I think I might be ready to have some of my own... I'd like to be able to meet someone outside of the work setting, and thought the Web might be one avenue through which to do this (?)... I'm tired of traveling to cool, exotic places all over the world -- by myself. I'm looking for a Permanent travel partner to join me...More about me. -- I grew up in the South Pacific (Micronesia) and in Hawaii, did most of my education in California, and lived in Texas a few times along the way. A few years ago, I moved from Cali to Austin, and more recently started working in Katy. ... I enjoy History, culture, dining, the outdoors, and water sports. 'Did a marathon and a mini-triathlon not too long ago. 'Enjoy traveling...I'm looking for someone fun, intelligent, and with a little spontaneity. (A sense of style would be nice -- but then again, at times I can be a little granola myself)… My ideal weekend day (because I think this says a lot about a person) would start with waking up late; maybe breakfast, or a newspaper with coffee in bed. Perhaps a late morning jog or a quick bike ride -- or not. Then a fun day out in the sun – maybe at a cultural event or a weekend festival of some sort. Dinner could either be cooking and conversation with friends, or at a restaurant, with plans to meet friends at another gathering later on... (Just recently I had a great day that started with an intense bike ride with buddies in the afternoon, followed by cocktails at my place, followed by an amazing dinner with good friends and wine, at Cibo Italian on Congress Ave.) ... 'Love my weekends in Austin ........... ......................... ...................

My Interests

Things I enjoy (but don't always have time for): Photography, art, the outdoors (hiking, biking, boating, sailing, beaches), Salsa, cultural events, dining (Brazilian, Korean Sundubu Jjigae are some favs), History, casual dinners w good friends...Favorite Experiences: Coffee and breakfast on a cool morning, in the mountains/nature, morning dew, birds chirping.. Experiencing the sights, sounds, tastes, smells, and life of a foreign city.. Enjoying the sun and minutes-fresh seafood, outdoors at a seaside restuarant.

I'd like to meet:

I initially tried out online dating a while back in LA -- I've found it definitely is not difficult finding a date online. At this point however, rather than simply dating for the sake of dating, I'd like to meet interesting people, get to know them, make a few friends in a non-pressured setting, and then see what happens from there. (I.e., something a little closer to the way we've traditionally met people in the past). I'd like to spend a few afternoons or evenings getting to know my someone by doing favorite activities, exploring Austin culture/cuisine/etc...

Music:

I listen to, probably in this order of frequency: (What genre of music are Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, and Lenny Kravitz in?), Old Rock, Reggae, International tunes, blues, jazz, and wierd stuff (like Cirque du Soleil). Hip Hop, only if I'm in a Hip Hop club. Rarely country -- like if I'm driving ACROSS the country... Never Rap (unless it's been somehow slipped into an album that I'm listening to).

Movies:

Favorite Actors: James Woods, Willem Dafoe, Tom Hanks, Billy Crystal, Don Cheadle, Harvey Keitel, John Malkovich. (These guys generally don't take roles in crappy movies). MUST SEE Movies: An Inconvenient Truth; Hotel Rwanda; Gandhi ...on the lighter side, When Harry Met Sally....................................................... .........
You Belong in Paris
You enjoy all that life has to offer, and you can appreciate the fine tastes and sites of Paris.
You're the perfect person to wander the streets of Paris aimlessly, enjoying architecture and a crepe. What European City Do You Belong In?

Travel -- Cities: NYC; SFO; Hong Kong; London; Shanghai; Paris; Rio. Seaside Villages: Port Antonio, Jamaica; Lagos, Portugal; Nags Head, NC; Oaxaca Coast, Mexico; Playa del Carmen. MY PARENTS... I'm Multi-ethnic. My parents are immigrants from England and Jamaica. (Unfortunately, 'multi-ethnic' is not an option on the Myspace background form)... 'Was raised in a dual-faith family. Mom's Presbyterian. Dad, who has stronger moral integrity than anyone I've met, is Athiest. (My parents are now at 50 years of marriage, incidentally).
