AOK

Super Producer of Jumpman23.com and The B.B.K.--

About Me

This Chicago native Albert Carter Mayden III a.k.a. AOK, embraced his calling for music in 1985, when he received his very first instrument the French horn. He continued to play the French horn until his freshman year of high school. At this point, AOK became very intrigued with the radio broadcast/media aspect of the entertainment world. He excelled within theses two newfound interests so rapidly that by his junior year there were no more classes left for him to take, so in his leisure time he perfected his many talents. He submerged himself in everything from filmography, videography, editing, and he later started doing his high school morning announcements. In the summer of “95” AOK and hip-hop became one. Like so many others who were initially inspired by Slick Rick and KRS-One, he began as just another aspiring rapper with a boundless passion for hip-hop, albeit a rapper with a Midas touch when it came to Production. AOK eventually joined a rap group called Apocalypse, it consisted of nine members, AOK was one of three that was producing the tracks. In the fall of 1995 he started school at Columbia College a local art school in Chicago, in which he majored in sound engineering that transcended into music business management. By 1997 he had began an internship position; Soon after he landed his first gig as a producer/engineer at the Foxes and Hounds studios. After paying some dues and the completion of his undergrad studies, AOK opened his first music production house in which he called “The Cave”. One year later he opened up his second production house “Last Dragon Entertainment”, which he named after the 1985 classic The Last Dragon. Naturally, the moral of the movie hit close to home for AOK, because he to realized that he embodied the inner strength to achieve anything, he just couldn’t be afraid to get out there and attain it. Last Dragon Entertainment has afforded AOK the opportunity to work with many local talents as well as throwing and hosting numerous concerts, showcasing these local talents as well as live music. In addition to working with the local artists, AOK has broadened his name when he signed a contract in 2005 for a production deal with Nikes own Brand Jordan team, in coherence with the online shoe campaign. AOK has recently reignited his old flame Dejaying and is currently producing a mix tape entitled Oil for the Hood volumes 1-5 and his new group BBC AKA Big Bread Click. AOK is seeking to establish himself in the market place, much like hip-hop AOK is evolution and once these to powerful entities finally meet face-to-face they will become unstoppable……..Buy merch from AOK at www.zazzle.com/lastdragonent
