About Me

Music:

traditional, ethnic, jazz, anything that sounds good to me like vasen and vartinna to youssou N'dour and salif keita and ngoni music like issa bagayogo. amadou and miriam, baaba maal put on a good show this year, local groups like eleven eyes and samba ja, shakti, more obscure progressive fusion like canterbury and king crimson to Richard thompson and more tradtional music like scandinavian and breton irish and theisles balkan is hugely popular with me yet i need variety in good modern jazz like dave holland or henry threadgill laswell john hassel, ali akbar khan ravi shankar are my heroes

Movies:

lots from king kong and gorgo to One Giant leap, Gormenghast, terry gilliam and handmade films, i enjoy alot of movies if they're funny or well made. chris farley to charlie chaplin, the original planet of the apes, music movies like round midnight for the music scenes.

Television:

MY NAME IS EARL! The WAR AT HOME! That 70's show, heroes, 30 rock, simpsons, outer limits, SNL, letterman, conaan O', king of the hill is okay, basically sci fi/ and comedy. And nature and science programs. Also music programs since that seems to be my main focus in life. so basically pbs some fox. nbc cbs have been part of my life since crusader rabbit and captain kangaroo, little rascals, jasper!!! colonol bleep i seem to have alot of memories of cartoon shows from the east coast and chiller theater and creature feature was big. mystery theater the one with puppets rankin the old horror flicks is dope!!

Books:

the good earth by pearl s. buck is probably the first actually good novel i ever read and enjoyed. Some day i will finish Meetings with remarkable men by Gurdieff. basically lots of meta-physical/psycho-spiritual ramblings. books about music. but i don't read much can you tell? Art! i love art. i almost forgot

Heroes:

made a new instument today!

I pulled off all the hardware from my black 22" ludwig bass drum then stripped it to the wood. wood plugs were then glued into the holes from the hardware and I sanded the shell. I pain...

balkan group is tightening up
