About Me

BARK is the result of a collaboration between New Zealander Angeline Conaghan and Norwegian Terje Evensen which began in London in 2001. Bark’s music is an accomplished fusion of styles including pop, electronica, jazz and trip hop. Layered textures are created by samples of machines and the London underground, invoking atmospheres that talk to the urban creature. The melodies soar over pulsing beats and rhythms that are fused together by biting lyrics and virtuoso programming.
Bark is currently performing in the UK and Europe and plans are in the making for a New Zealand Tour.

“Home is intriguing, original and refreshingly different.”
“Home is something of a rarity: an LP that defies classification, without sounding as though every song was written by a different person”
Chris Korff Sound on Sound Magazine June 2007
“A real sense of two musicians from opposite sides of the planet tuning in to a common frequency, Conaghans warm jazzy voice fused with Evensens coolie kinetic electronica”Nick Bollinger Radio New Zealand May 2007
“BARK is an accomplished fusion of styles one might not expect to gel, at their best this odd pair have invented a new language that works for both of them, the music is not intrinsically New Zealand nor specifically Norwegian but it represents an arrival (whatever it’s location!)”Music 101 National Radio New Zealand May 2007
