About Me
I started playing guitar when i was eight years old. I was exposed to a lot of good rock music by my older brothers, bands like Led Zeppelin,Black Sabbath,Scorpions,Jimi Hendrix,The Who,Marc Bolan,Van Halen & Whitsnake.
I started playing in my first bands during the "Hair Metal" days, so I was definitely influenced by bands like Bon Jovi,Poison,Motley Crew,Lynch Mob,Mr Big,Dave Lee Roth & Extreme. I played a lot of gigs with big hair and snake skin jeans!!
As time went on, I became more interested in the sixties, bands like, Small Faces,The Beatles,The Kinks,The Who, which all had a big influence on my playing and writing style.
I was involved in a lot of bands during the nineties, ranging in styles from heavy rock to cabaret jazz. It was a very busy time. I was involved in band management,production,writing,session work and stacks of recording.
Things were a little quiter after the millenium. I played bass for a couple of bands, I played drums for a couple of bands and toured with my own material as singer/guitarist, both with a band and solo accoustic.
I have been lucky enough to study with some great players, Pete Gates, Charlie Griffiths, Martin Goulding and the Guitar Institute.I've just left DIRTH a very cool rock band with Alec,Jon Moss and Peter Noone. And I have recently worked with DANNI McCORMACK, she is super cool, and I really loved playing in the band.
