About Me

Originally formed in February 2004, Slab Nine was founded by the versatile, dual vocal, Coster/Taylor rhythm section which has seen 7 years action in the Watford power trio, T.U.G. The pair saw a few musicians come and go as the new band gigged sporadically for 2 years. Never-the-less, they continued to refine the 'slab' sound and create material drawn from a hybrid of various classic rock/punk/metal influences.
Bernie is a lifetime 'The Who' nut, and him and Gary are united in their admiration of 'The Cult'. Other influences are too numerous to mention, but the band has been compared to the likes of Alice In Chains by some pundits.
After a brief spell as a four-piece in 2005, the ban re-emerged as a trio in Summer 2006 with the new recuit Ross Marshall, closing the triangle, on guitar. Bringing a harder edge with his love of Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Guns n Roses, and all this metal, recent performances have demonstrated a bigger, richer 'slab' sound than EVER!
