About Me

I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts! Myspace Graphics

As-salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah. In all honesty, there isn't much to tell. I'm Muslim, married, and the mother of 2 beautiful little boys. Alhamdulillah!! (You should really check out my husband's page, Tasherre D'Enajetic )I love Allah subhana wa ta'ala; I read alot; I write; I love good music, good books, and I recently fell in love with all things African. (Although, I should probably add that, according to my best friend, Iman, I am an "afro-centric sufi hindu voudou shaman herbalist vegetarian communist with a slight penchant for Hasdism and an interest in the occult and supernatural." Yep. That just about sums it up.) I also now sell Avon products (http://www.youravon.com/latoyathompson).

My Interests

Islam, being a better Muslim, being a better parent, and being a good wife to my man. Reading, writing, and learning. Politics, religious history and ancient civilizations also rank very highly.

I'd like to meet:

Muslims who are strong in the deen and can help me become stronger. Muslims who love Allah subhana wa ta'ala; those who believe in Allah (swt) and His Messnger, al-Qur'an and the Last Day. Allahu akbar! Also, writers, poets, musicians and Native Africans.

Music:

My tastes are eclectic. I've been known to play Aerosmith and Zapp and Roger in the same car ride, immediately followed by Nina Simone and Poor Righteous Teachers, to finish up with Floetry and Lenny Kravitz.

Movies:

Let's say I'm a fan of the horror genre and leave it at that. Although, as of late, I have become interested in foreign films. Sub-titles are a must, though...

Television:

Dont't really watch TV except for the news, the History Channel, the Travel Channel, and whatever is on Sprout and PBS (I DO have a child, you know).

Books:

If it has words in it, and is in English, I've probably read it, want to read it, or have thumbed through it.

Heroes:

The Sahaba, The Ancestors, and anyone who has experienced hardship only to see Paradise when it was all over.
