The Nothing Noise

On hiatus May 17 - Aug 18 (but we still love you!)

About Me

The Nothing Noise is a six person band of indie minimalism and continual flux/experimentation hailing from Chapel Hill. Logan stretches his vocal chords/ guitar cords and flails around alot. Kellie sits pretty and scrapes a bow across the violin. Kenny pulls on strings (bass/heart) and stomps his feet. Zeke bangs and bangs until he blisters and bleeds. Andy bangs, but with melody. Josh screams with brass and hot air and metal strings and ! We have friends who help us out. If you ever want to collaborate/perform with us, let us know. We have shared the stage with such groups as Say Hi, The Big Sleep, Thee More Shallows, Manchester Orchestra, Pattern is Movement, Jukebox the Ghost, The Winter Sounds, Grampall Jookabox, attatchedhands, Building the State, When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth, The Future Kings of Nowhere, Abiku, Bandazian, CITIES, Icarus Himself, Heypenny, GreyMarket, Sweater Weather, the Busy World, Ponchos from Peru, Harmute, Hadwynn, Mowgli and many other fantastic musicians. Music is magic is mind over matter.
We could all quit our day jobs.
WE HAVE T-SHIRTS!! $10$

Sounds Like:
"The Nothing Noise makes nervy acoustic-jangle pop with a twittering heart" - Grayson Currin, The Independent

"Indie rock band creates orchestral pop in the vein of Arcade Fire." - Diversions

"Missing the backing of brass member Josh Krautwurst to locked car keys in Wilmington, the remaining five members continued with minimal arrangements but on a much larger scale than Icarus Himself. Frontman Logan Halley-Winsett wailed like a lone coyote, as if Kellie Grubbs’ strings had cast a full moon where The Men’s projector had just cast its own light an hour or so before. The xylophone positioned nearest the audience stage right punctuated songs like drops of ice water on your neck in a cold day. Even sans horns The Nothing Noise sounded in top form." - Benn Wineka, Diversions

"The Nothing Noise profited from an endearing goofiness, quirky instrumentation, and a melting voiced singer with surprisingly mature lyrics." —Brian Howe, The Independent

"Chapel Hill’s The Nothing Noise pummeled the crowd with it’s intensely ryhthmic indie pop. Singer/guitarist Logan Halley-Winsett was alive with passion as he alternatively crooned and picked before launching into a piercing howl and slamming home chords. The band’s tight and hard hitting set was just the gut-check needed to awaken the laid back Sunday-night crowd." - Jordan Lawrence, Diversions
